Job Title – Lead – Systems Engineering – Servers Capacity & Performance- for our leading financial services company
The Purpose of This Role
The Enterprise Capacity, Performance, and Availability team is responsible for monitoring and providing corrective action from a performance and capacity perspective on over 60,000 physical and virtual servers across Fidelity. The role of the group is to proactively identify performance and capacity issues (provide observability) across application spaces and coordinate with the business, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve them both proactively and reactively.
Technical / Behavioral
A Lead Java and Cloud Engineer
A good understanding of complex production applications, including infrastructure dependencies for measuring and predicting performance
Excellent understanding of modern application configurations and frameworks
Excellent understanding of SLI/SLO (expansion) definitions and key signals for different types of applications
Good knowledge of Operating System performance metrics and analysis for both Linux and Windows
Good knowledge of virtualized environment operations characteristics for Vmware, vSphere and OpenStack
In-depth understanding of high-volume operations environments
Assist in sizing applications for migration to AWS and Azure
Able to multi-task in a self-motivated fashion
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Crisp, clear communications skills (technical, non-technical, and all levels of management)
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing directions or needs
The Skills that are Good to Have for this role
Knowledge of TeamQuest, Elastic Metricbeats, or similar performance agents (preferred)
Develop and support performance/anomaly detection functions using third-party tools such as TeamQuest, Prometheus and Graphana

How Your Work Impacts the Organization
You would be responsible for monitoring and corrective actions from a performance perspective on over 10,000 physical and virtual servers across Fidelity business units. Proactively identify performance issues across application spaces. Coordinate with the business, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve performance issues both proactively and reactively.
